Will Jalen Reagor’s Tenure with the Eagles be Short Lived? (11/25/21)

The Eagles are riding high at the moment. They have won three out of their last four games, and are currently knocking on the door for a wild card spot.

While almost the entire team has been playing well as of late, there has been one player who continues to struggle, that being last year’s first-round pick Jalen Reagor.

During his rookie season, Reagor was expected to be that young deep threat that the Eagles desperately needed for so long. While he did show some flashes of brilliance, he missed five games due to a ligament tear in his thumb, and he only managed to compile 396 yards.

With a fresh and young new coaching staff being brought in during the offseason that takes pride in developing their young players, Reagor was expected to have a bounce-back sophomore campaign.

That has not at all been the case, as Reagor is even worse than he was last season. He hasn’t made any contributions to the offense, and it looks as though that he is a complete non-factor at this point.

Reagor has only managed to compile 23 receptions for 170 receiving yards. Over his last five games played, he only has 10 receptions for 30 yards, and last game he grabbed in one reception or -1 yards.

Eagles 6th round pick from last year, Quez Watkins, has outplayed Reagor the whole season, as he has nearly doubled his production with just as many snaps.

To make matters worse for the Eagles, the player that was taken right after Reagor in last year’s draft, Justin Jefferson, has solidified himself as one of the NFL’s best wide receivers.

Last season, Jefferson was fourth in receiving yards with exactly 1,400, and this year currently he is fourth in receiving yards with 944. He is projected to surpass 1,500 receiving yards this season.

One of the Eagles main priorities this offseason will be to cut ties with Reagor, and hopefully, he can rebound somewhere else.
