Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller on the trade market? The Eagles should pounce on this golden opportunity. (4/9/21)
It has been reported that the Bears are shopping 26 year old wide receiver, Anthony Miller. The Eagles should be all over this, and here’s why.
More added wide receiver depth
The Eagles lack depth at a lot of positions and the wide receiver position is certainly one of them. Outside of Jalen Reagor, Greg Ward, and Travis Fulgham, all they have to rely on is Quez Watkins, JJ Arcega- Whiteside, and John Hightower, which is pretty worrisome. Adding Miller would offer the Eagles more depth, and he would be another added voice in the wide receiver room.
Miller shouldn’t be to hard to acquire in a trade. In his career, he has never eclipsed 700 receiving yards in a season. For that specific reason, the Eagles should only give up at most a 4th round pick and maybe a pick later in the draft. They have the most draft picks out of any team in the league this year with eleven, and so giving up a pick or two in the later rounds shouldn’t affect their large stash of draft capital.
Miller certainly isn’t Julio Jones or DK Metcalf, but he can still make plays when called upon. Adding him would give Jalen Hurts another solid playmaker for the offense. He’s someone who can stretch the field with his speed, which would open up all the underneath stuff for tight end Dallas Goedert and running back Miles Sanders. The Eagles will ultimately have two wide receivers who can stretch the field with their speed in Miller and Reagor.
Plenty of gas left in the tank
Miller is only 26 years of age, and he’s only been in the league for three seasons, which means he’s still got a long career ahead of him. He wouldn’t be the only one, as the Eagles have multiple young playmakers in their offensive arsenal, with Sanders being 23, Goedert being 26, Reagor is only 22 years old, and you have a young quarterback in Jalen Hurts who is also only 22 years of age.
